Spiritual Girls in a Material World
I'm feeling a little bit more in the groove of writing on here this week - figures, when I'm not as busy I feel the need to write all the groovy things I find. I've been meandering the internet a little bit this morning, filling my cup up full of Katie Dalebout and Gabby Bernstein.
Check out this awesome clip of Gabby talking about being a spiritual girl in a material world, and why we need to be more unapologetic about WHO we are. Being spiritual is being you and being real. Also learn her secret to her perfect waves.
Then as I was searching Katie Dalebout's awesome Wellness Wonderland, I came across this image and nearly jumped up and down screaming YES.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sick and tired getting told I'm "not a vegetarian" if I eat seafood occasionally, or being told "nope, you're a pescatarian". Dude. Why do you effing care? I eat what I eat. I eat well, and I eat to fuel my body and mind. I eat what makes me feel good. Let's ditch the label, okay? Ok.
I was also really digging on this next image. As you know, I have an amazing adorable fur baby at home and I really do care what he eats and ingests. I use all natural cleaners, he gets a special food, I buy him omega oils, BUT I'm going to start using some of these awesome-possum supplements. What a holistic way to take care of your pet!

You can check out this image and more at Planet Paws on Facebook. They have a bunch of cool pet info - for holistic pet owners. OR just people who adore their pets.
Now I was sitting here thinking about routines - it's a popular WW Podcast question, so I'm going to fill you in on mine.
My morning routine involves the dōterra Veragé skin care line. It's an amazing morning skin care and self care routine for me. (I also use the OnGuard toothpaste for my pearly whites, after some serious tongue scraping).
I've been adding in a cup of warm lemon water before I start drinking my regular water. I also try really hard to drink at least 1/2 L of water before I eat anything. Some day's that just doesn't happen. Then I have a very balanced breakfast. Lately I'm loving avo-toasts, or eggs, Ezekiel bread and veggies with some fruit. My new goal is to have vegetables at every meal. I'm doing pretty dang good, if I say so myself.
My evening routine varies a lot depending on whether I work late or not. But most nights I take my makeup off and cleanse my face with my own oil cleanser recipe, then I use my homemade & From The Earth toner, and finish off with either avocado oil, jojoba oil or grapeseed oil with Frankincense oil and sometimes some melaleuca as moisturizer. I pop some oils in the diffuser, and read a bit before bed.
On lazier, or slower nights - I pop on a homemade clay mask, add some epsom salts or bath bombs to my tub and have a good soak all while listening to some podcasts or reading some personal development books. I've decided self-help isn't accurate enough. When I'm feeling particularly in need of relaxing, I light soy candles and have a glass of wine. Doesn't that sound delightful? I'm also really trying to get into the habit of dry skin brushing - but it's a bit of a struggle for me. Kind of like oil pulling. I try.
I'm also trying to do a daily yoga sesh with Bandito on the floor, which has been turning into puppy cuddles and play time. But that is okay with me. It's taken me a long time to realize getting mad and frustrated when he comes and plays or lays under me while I'm practicing isn't yogic at all. So I laugh, cuddle him and have him join me in down dog. I'm more about finding my zen these days.
Now, I'm off to do some errands because we are seriously low on food ... and baking ingredients. First a trip to Purdy Natural, and I think I'm going to go buy myself a new yoga mat too - just for at the studio, since Bandit has damaged mine pretty bad. Note to everyone - if you let your 75 pound dog run around on your yoga mat, there will be gauges and scratches. Let it go. And possibly, a yin yoga class tonight. I need it.
Namaste spiritual girls in a material world (and boys),
Jedrah xo
